Their paths crossed in 2004 through a mutual friend. Lindsay wasn’t impressed at first—until she tasted Tim’s cooking. "His cooking changed my mind," she admitted.

By 2007, they were married, balancing side jobs while nurturing Lindsay’s dessert business. When the 2008 recession hit, they saw a chance to pivot. Tim, leveraging his marketing expertise, joined full-time, and in 2010, they officially launched Runaway Spoon after a standout performance at a wedding show.

From Humble Beginnings to Culinary Stardom

Their first major break came early—a 400-person fundraiser contract. Nervous yet determined, they delivered flawlessly, and word spread like wildfire. Instead of limiting themselves to wedding cakes, they expanded into full-service catering, introducing unforgettable themed dinners at venues like the Mulva Center.

Today, they still handle most of the cooking themselves, supported by a small but mighty team during peak events.
