Devastating Strike on Water-Repair Crew

Denis Pushilin, the Kremlin-backed leader of occupied Donetsk, announced via Telegram that a Ukrainian drone attack in the town of Vuhlehirsk—north of Donetsk—resulted in three deaths and one injury. The victims were part of a water-repair crew, traveling in a vehicle when the strike occurred.

Pushilin further claimed four additional injuries in separate incidents across Russian-held territories, amplifying concerns over civilian safety in conflict zones.

War of Narratives: Russia’s Push vs. Ukraine’s Resistance

Despite relentless Russian advances, Ukraine has rejected Moscow’s demands to abandon its positions in Donetsk. Pushilin’s recent statement noted that Ukrainian forces still retain 17% of the region, though Russian-backed troops continue their slow but steady encroachment.

Ukrainian officials, however, assert counteroffensives have regained ground, strengthening their defensive lines along a 1,200-kilometer front.

New Fronts: Kharkiv and Volgograd Under Fire

Russia’s Defence Ministry confirmed the capture of Novovasylivka, a village in Kharkiv, as part of efforts to establish a buffer zone near the Ukrainian border.

Meanwhile, in Volgograd, regional governor Andrei Bocharov reported an ongoing large-scale drone attack targeting an apartment complex and energy infrastructure. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, though the assault underscored escalating hostilities.

On the opposing side, Ukraine’s Bryansk region reported a fatal drone strike in a village, with Acting Governor Yegor Kovalchuk confirming one death via Telegram.

Civilian Toll Mounts Amid Unrelenting Conflict

The war’s brutal toll persists, with both sides sustaining losses while civilians bear the brunt of relentless strikes. The situation remains volatile, with no sign of de-escalation in sight.
