New Chapter for Ragazzi Boys Chorus
A Legacy of Harmony and Growth
For four decades, a vibrant chorus has echoed through the Bay Area, nurturing young voices and fostering musical excellence. Now, after 25 years at the helm, Kent Jue, the artistic and executive director, has announced his departure, effective August 2027. His stepping down follows the chorus’s milestone 40th anniversary season, celebrating its founding in 1987.
Jue inherited the role from the original founder eight years ago and has since left an indelible mark on the organization. His leadership reshaped key programs, established a sustainable annual budget, and cultivated a reputation for unmatched musical quality among boys aged five to eighteen. Today, the chorus proudly serves over 230 choristers from more than 100 schools across 30 Bay Area communities.
The Search for a New Voice
With Jue’s departure, the chorus is launching a national search to find his successor—a leader who can honor its rich tradition while infusing fresh energy. The challenge ahead? Ensuring the group remains vibrant and relevant for generations to come.
A Fond Farewell and a Bright Future
Jue reflects on his next chapter with optimism, eager to explore new horizons beyond the chorus. Yet, he leaves with deep gratitude, acknowledging that a piece of his heart will always belong to the lively community he helped build.
As the chorus prepares for this transition, it stands as both a celebration of the past and a beacon for the future—an opportunity for renewal, growth, and the continuation of a musical legacy that has shaped countless young lives.
