The results showed that yoga instructors scored significantly higher than both practitioners and non-practitioners on all psychological variables. This suggests that the depth of training and practice may play a critical role in the psychological benefits derived from yoga.

In contrast, practitioners were often influenced by external factors, such as social recommendations or physical appearance goals. This difference in motivation may explain why instructors tended to reap more psychological benefits from their practice.

The findings highlight the importance of intrinsic motivation in achieving emotional well-being through yoga. When people focus on the internal benefits of yoga, such as increased self-awareness and compassion, they are more likely to experience positive outcomes. This challenges the common perception that yoga is primarily a physical practice, and instead reveals its profound impact on emotional well-being.

As people seek ways to manage stress and improve their mental health, yoga offers a powerful tool. By understanding the psychological benefits of yoga and the motivations that drive people to practice, researchers can develop more effective programs and interventions.
